What it is

Small Potatoes is a restaurant that serves potato skins, bruschetta-style, on a slate board, six at a time, with an ever-rotating cast of toppings. Small potato. Big menu. Nobody leaves hungry. Everybody leaves a little confused about the concept, which is, frankly, part of the concept.

Bruschetta-style potato skinsToast was always the weakest part of bruschetta. We fixed that. You're welcome, bread.
Rotating toppings dailyToday: diced tomato, sour cream, chives, bacon bits, melted cheddar, avocado. Tomorrow: the chef checks the walk-in at 6 a.m. and decides.

How it works

  1. Walk in and take a seat. There is no waitlist. There is only the potato, and it has been waiting longer than you.
  2. Read the chalkboard. The toppings change daily, so the board changes daily, and the staff change their minds about what "daily" means.
  3. Order as many skins as you like. Pay one price. Leave full. Leave confused. Come back tomorrow, because the chalkboard changed and you will want to know what it says.

FAQ

Is it just potato skins? Yes. And no. Mostly yes, but with confidence.

Can I get the toppings on the side? You can, though the toppings have been told about you and will be disappointed. They came a long way from the walk-in.

Why is it called Small Potatoes if the menu is enormous? We thought about that for a long time and then decided to serve more potato skins instead.
